Offered here are prints that were part of a set commissioned by General Tire around 1975. These are hard to find and very desirable examples of the wonderful work that Mr. Melia is famous for.

Paul Melia:

"A professional illustrator and painter since 1952 Paul Melia has served clients in the Fortune 500, the publishing industry, government and the health care field. He is a graduate of the School of the Dayton Art Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

His design, illustration, portraits and water media work have appeared in nearly 300 exhibitions, including the Federation of Canadian Artists-AIM for the Arts International Exhibit-2000, The American Watercolor Society in New York, Communications Arts Annual Exhibit, Palo Alto, California, The San Diego Watercolor Society International Exhibit, The National Watercolor Oklahoma Exhibit, The Akron Grand National Exhibit and annual exhibits of the Kentucky Aqueous National, The Ohio Watercolor Society and The New York Society of Illustrators. His paintings and portraits are represented in numerous corporate and private collections throughout the world.

He is the recipient of awards at the regional, national and international levels including first place awards in The Ohio Watercolor Society's fall exhibits in 1983, 1985, 1986 and 1998; Watercolor Oklahoma 18th National Exhibit, 1992; The Kentucky Watercolor Society's first place Humana Award in The Kentucky Aqueous, 1988; The American Watercolor Society's Nicholas Real Award in 1987; The CFS Medal in 1988, the first place Gold Award in 1990, the Elizabeth Callan Memorial Medal in 1991 and the second place Silver Award in 1992. He has been accepted as a member of The American Watercolor Society and elevated to the status of Dolphin Fellow in 1990. In August of 2000, he won the top award at the prestigious AIM for the Arts International Exhibit with $25,000 in Vancouver, B.C.
