1955 Indian Woodsman Street Scrambler Motorcycle For Sale
1955 Indian Woodsman Street Scrambler Motorcycle: $12000.00
1955 Indian Woodsman Street Scrambler Motorcycle - ModifiedIndian Woodsman motorcycles ( also Apache, Trailblazer & other models) were manufactured by Royal Enfield and imported by Indian in the '50s.They were slightly modified, re-badged, and sold by and as Indian in their attempt to capitalize on the off-road craze that was sweeping America.I acquired this bike decades ago, as an incomplete non-running machine.I embarked on a long-term restoration and made a lot of modifications to the bike.Today it is a road worthy, classic “Big Single” that has many new and improved parts and components.I retained as much of the original motorcycle as I could, some components were fabricated or modified for power, reliability and safety, and many were replaced with NOS parts sourced from England. I havea clean Washington title in my name. This machine has the original unmolested frame and swing arm (powder coated), NOS fuel tank,Morad aluminum rims, aluminum fenders, stainless steel spokes, 612cc engine with new cylinder, flowed modified cylinder head with titanium valves, retainers & lash caps, stem seals, racing cams, custom made aluminum rocker stands, forged piston, new flywheels with stroker crankshaft, reconditioned magneto, rebuilt gearbox, racing wet clutch, Mikuni TM-38 carburetor, new custom exhaust, new cables and brake shoes (very cool dual, SLS front brakes) , new shocks, rebuilt front forks with new steering damper - too many items to list. Many custom stainless steel and aluminum parts & pieces were fabricated in the build. The bike currently is setup with a conventional riding position, but parts to convert to a café style with rear sets are included. The last 2 photos show the rear sets at an earlier point in the restoration. Many other spares are also included: Separate exhaust, new 1 ½ inch AMAL GP carb with remote float (racing carb found on Goldstars, Velos and other racing motorcycles of the time), some spare engine and transmission parts, etc.I have $2,000+ worth of additional parts that go with the motorcycle. The motorcycle starts and runs well, it leaks little oil (all of these British singles leak somewhat), as care was taken upon assembly to make it as dry as possible.Starting these old magneto fired British singles is a learned art, so some experience with them is a plus. Remember, the motorcycle is 66 years old.The electrics utilize a lithium ion 12 volt battery for lights and horn, and the motorcycle has a reconditioned Lucas N-1 magneto for ignition. The motorcycle is light and powerful.I'll include manuals and receipts. If you search for 1954 – 1955 Indian Woodsman this motorcycle comes up.You will not be disappointed, and your neighbor will not have one like it.If you’re looking for something unique for ride, show, or display, this is it.The motorcycle will be listed for sale elsewhere, so if you're interested, I wouldn’t hesitate. No warranty and no returns.Pickup is preferred and should be considered if you want the spares. The buyer may hire a transporter to pick it all up at his expense. If you need clarification or additional photos please ask.I’ll check the ad daily and will respond as quickly as possible. Good luck offerding and thanks for looking.
