Minor changes made to improve the look but nottaking anything away from the original style and appeal:
The originally silver painted center panels ofthe bumpers are now chrome plated.
The anodized grill is chrome plated.
Dupont Black tuxedo metallic paint with tons ofDupont clear is loved by all people who see the car sparkle in the sun light andlook totally black in the shade. Bottom side, inner fenders and core support ispainted the same as the exterior.
New glass with gray tint built in, not film.
17” chrome wheels with 235/55R17 tires front andrear for a wide wheel and tire modern stance.
For a cleaner look the rocker moldings have beenpowder coated black minus the top ¼”.
All chrome has been replaced or restored.
Engine and compartment:
Hundreds of hours spent smoothing the firewall, bottom ofthe hood and core support to give the original 348 W motor a look of a diamondin a jewelry box. The black paint on the firewall and hood was color sandedsmooth and polished so the motor reflects onto the firewall and hood likemirrors.
The unique and original 348 W motor has beencompletely rebuilt and balanced.
90 hours was spent grinding and polishing theEdelbrock intake and ribbed valve covers. The smoothed exhaust manifolds wereceramic coated and all parts were installed with ARP 12-point stainless bolts.
Holley 600 carburetor with electric choke.
Electronic ignition module replaces the pointsinside the original distributor.
Amazing Lamar Walden serpentine front runner kitwas added.
The unattractive original top tank radiator thatsticks up above the core support was replaced with an aluminum radiator hiddenby a custom made housing and two Spal 13” fans.
Wiring is hidden and the AC lines and componentsare hidden inside the passenger side fender well.
Chassis and drive-train:
The cast iron power guide transmission wasreplaced with a Chevrolet 350 turbo.
Power assist steering was changed to a 605 powersteering box conversion kit.
Front end linkage has been replaced.
Front drums were replaced with a disc brakeconversion kit. Rear brakes rebuilt.
Differential housing is powder coated and all bearingsand seals replaced.
Chassis and components have been sand blastedand powder coated.
Brake lines and gas lines have been replaced.
New front and rear Moog springs.
Flanged exhaust system ceramic coated.
Interior:
A lot of time and thought was put into interior.Most custom interiors are made to look modern. I wanted this interior to lookvintage using newer Impala parts and clean and less is good. Goal of “DidImpala’s come with bucket seats and console”?
Smoothed dash with Dakota gauges in the factorybezel.
Dash trim hand made to match the console.
Custom air vent and radio mounts molded out ofsteel.
Ididit tilt column with 3” smaller vintagesteering wheel.
Vintage Air with hidden controls mounted insidethe console.
1962 Impala seats, powder coated frames and newfoam.
New reproduction 1964 Impala console.
Dove gray Ultra Leather throughout. Perforatedinserts in the seats to match the perforated headliner.
Rear factory seat frame and foam modified tomatch the bucket seats.
Headliner trim the chrome has been deleted for acleaner look.
Custom fitted and sewn European carpet.
Custom clean wiring hand made to match the car.
Sound deadening throughout interior and trunk.
All interior and trunk panels are made of ABS sothey will not warp over time.
Stereo:
Unbelievable sound. Clear, loud and a lot ofbass controlled by a volume switch mounted inside the console.
Lanzar tweeters molded into the A-pillar covers.
JL Audio 6 x 9’s mounted behind the custom madeABS kick panels.
Pioneer head unit with illumination matching theblue dash color lighting.
American Bass 12\" subwoofer.
3,000 watt Crunch Amp running the subwoofer and1,500 watt Crunch Amp running the front speakers.
Large power cell battery mounted in the trunkfor the stereo and starting.
Battery tender mounted permanently in the trunk.
