1996 Chevrolet Impala SS:

Garage kept 1996 Impala SS factory black paint and gray leather interior. I’ve owned this Impala since June of 2008. The previous owner purchased it new in 1996. This Impala SS has the standard SS options (5.7L LT1, 4 Spd automatic trans, bucket seats and center console with shifter, leather wrapped steering wheel, 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, 17” aluminum wheels, rear spoiler, limited slip axle, HD cooling, and Decarbon shocks). It also has the “preferred equipment group” which includes 6-way power seats, passenger auto day/night rearview mirror, illuminated RH visor mirror, twilight sentinel headlight system, optional CD player stereo, and heat reflective windshield. Comes with the original window sticker.

This car has been well maintained since new. The original owner changed the oil every 3000 miles and had all the factory recommended services done. He put 33,000 miles on it in the first 12 years. Since I’ve owned it, I put an additional 24,000 miles on it. As of the time of writing this ad the car has just under 57,000 miles on the odometer. During my ownership I’ve used Mobil1 Synthetic oil for all the oil changes (every 4K-5K miles). I’ve also dealt with all the usual Impala issues… The starter was replaced in 2012 (GM tech replaced it with a GM part), all four window regulators had the slides replaced in 2014, the digital odometer was repaired in 2015, the heater core was replaced in 2017 (GM tech replaced it with a GM part), idler arm and front sway bar end-links/bushings were replaced in 2017 (GM tech replaced with GM parts). This past October I had four new tires installed…the original BF Goodrich still had tread, but were dry-rotted and not safe for highway use. At that time I replaced all four brake rotors and pads with GM parts. A brand new AC Delco Gold battery was installed this past December. Just the other day I noticed the water pump was losing a few drops of coolant out of the weep hole. I had the water pump replaced (GM part and the work done by a GM tech) and a new GM thermostat. He also replaced the serpentine belt with a GM part and flushed and filled the coolant system. The car retains its original black paint which still shows well. There are some tiny chips in the hood as the car has always been used as a highway car. Otherwise the paint is shiny and free from scratches. The body is straight and dent free. No door dings. The original gray leather interior is also in great shape. Seat covers are free from rips, tears and stains, dash pad is not faded, headliner is original and in excellent condition, the original carpet is not worn, original button-down floor mats are still in good shape, steering wheel leather is not ripped or worn. Everything on this car functions as it should…cold A/C, hot heat, power antenna functions as new, CD player plays without issue, power seats move in all directions, power mirrors work as they should, power windows go up and down without issue, power locks work great, key fob still locks/unlocks door and opens trunk.

It is a beautifully maintained car that runs, drives, and stops like a brand new car. If you are in the market for an Impala SS of this generation, you won’t find a nicer one for the money. This is a car that has been used enough to keep it road worthy, but not so much that it’s worn out. It’s ready for a new owner and many years of good service.
