Original genuine late 1930\'s through mid 1950\'s Matchless (& AJS) motorcycle steel gas tank will fit all Matchless singles and twins of the period - like G80 G80S G9 etc, this is a very solid tanks with decent old chrome- paint and pin stripes are amateur, very nice original John Bull knee grips and original tank cap, badge hold look good one small dent on front left to front of the knee grip and two at the front as seen below, should be an easy fix or use the tank as is on a rider, the two front dent will be mostly hidden by the forks. This will fit much much better than those tempting look tanks from India which I have found to just be made from oil drums fished out of the ganges river and other scrap metal but look good in photos, do yourself a favor if you are need of a tank and buy a proper British made factory gas tank. This is a really nice original looking tank, and is rare and hard to find for these years and is well worth re-finishing.
