Vintage 1950s RPPC Lot 5 Cards Lake Resort Cabins Beach Sailboats L. L. Cook.Postcard DetailsA lot of five genuine 1950s real photo postcards (RPPCs), all published by The L. L. Cook Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and printed on Kodak Paper postcard stock, with the Cook imprint and Kodak stamp box on the back of every card. The five views come from the same lake-country vacation series: sailboats on a wide lake seen through overhanging shoreline branches, with a boathouse across the water; a resort shoreline with cabins among the pines, swimmers at the beach and a slide at the water's edge; a white vacation cabin tucked among birch trees, with a figure at the door, bicycles beside it and the lake glinting through the trees; a shaded path winding through the resort grounds between tall pines and cabins; and a sandy swimming beach with a long floating dock, canoes and swimmers, and a wooded point across the water. The lake and resort are not identified on any of the cards, and there are no captions or writing on the fronts or backs. One format note that is part of these cards' character: each card is full standard postcard size, approximately 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches, but the photographs are printed small and centered on the fronts inside wide white borders, and each picture measures only approximately 3-3/8 x 1-3/4 inches. Cook printed many of its 1950s vacation cards this way from smaller vacation negatives.Condition NotesThe five cards are in very nice condition overall, with sharp, clean black-and-white images and bright white borders, and none of the cards was ever mailed; all five backs are clean and blank. Card by card: the cabin among the birch trees has a creased top-left corner in the white border, and the sailboat view has a lightly bumped top-left corner; the swimming beach card has a small tan spot in the white border above the photograph and a few tiny specks in the sky of the photograph. The remaining two cards are clean.Shipping and Handling◆ Packaging: Shipped securely in a protective plastic sleeve with card stock support inside a white envelope.
