Beautiful early Indigenous beadwork souvenir, likely dating from around the 1890s–1920s.

Made on black fabric with colourful glass seed beads, metallic bugle beads, turquoise edging, a detailed central rosette, and multicoloured looped bead fringe. These elaborate beaded souvenirs were made by Haudenosaunee artisans for the tourist trade, particularly around Ontario, Quebec, New York State, and the Niagara Falls region.

A striking early piece with wonderful colour and craftsmanship. Displays beautifully and would make a great addition to a collection of Indigenous beadwork, Canadian history, or early souvenir art.
