It shows the brand was registered to different individuals over time, with the earliest visible entry from 1914. It essentially functions as a combination of title deed and registration card for the branding iron and includes the owner's name and registration numbers for official records.

STATE OF CHIHUAHUA
Citizen Francisco Olivas Peña, Municipal President of the Municipality of Guadalupe y Calvo, State of Chihuahua. – CERTIFIES:
That Mrs. Pompoya Martínez, resident of the Section Municipal of Dolores, has presented today before this office, for registration, the branding iron, which appears on the reverse in natural form, which she will use to brand her semi-moved property (livestock) that currently does not miaet currently does not exceed fifty head; and she marked immediately in the respective sheet, having remained registered under the number (1189) one thousand one hundred eighty-nine and on pages – (119) one hundred nineteen of the corresponding book.
The respective rights were paid in the municipal treasury of this capital, according to the voucher that is attached to this document.
And, so that it serves as a legal title to the interested party, in conformity with what is provided by the valid Cattle Law in the State, I extend this present at the Mining Mineral of Guadalupe y Calvo, on the twenty-eighth day of the month of November of one thousand nine hundred twenty-five.
