1996 Lincoln Home Brandywine Woodcrafts Signed Marlene Whiting
***This listing is for the identical item shown in photos***
Built in 1839, this house was purchased in 1844 by Abraham and Mary Lincoln for $1500. Originally a story and a half cottage, the Lincolns enlarged the house during the 17 years they lived there. It was the only home the Lincolns ever owned. In 1887, Robert Todd Lincoln , their only surviving son, donated the home to the State of Illinois, which cared for it through 1972, then the house and surrounding four blocks became the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. The site is visited by nearly 1/2 million visitors every year.
