For those who don't want a working IR Sight in their Colonial Marine cosplay, here's an easy alternative. This is just the lower edge of the IR Sight that you can glue to the edge of your helmet to give the look of an IR Sight. It's great for people who don't want to risk breaking their expensive sight, or who have big heads that don't fit into the helmet with the full sight installed.
It’s a one-piece kit, you’ll need to paint and glue it into place.Instructions:
Wash the part in warm, soapy water to scrub off any excess mold release that’s left over from the casting process.
Paint the piece black.
Give it a matte clear coat.
Score up the top of the piece to give the glue something to hold onto.
Glue it in place with a two-part liquid epoxy for best results. Super Glue works as well.
If you’re using a liner in your helmet, cut away the edge.
Done!Works on steel, plastic, fiberglass, 3D printed, or pepakura helmets.
Warning – Be sure to sand and paint in a well-ventilated area and wear face and eye protection.
This is not a 3D print. This is made of resin and is much stronger, better, and easier to work with than a 3D print.
