Up for sale is a genuinely rare and beautiful antique Latvian letter opener, hand-carved from solid oak wood back in the 1920s-1930s. This exquisite piece of interwar Baltic art features traditional ethnographic folklore motifs, including a beautifully detailed flower and a stylized geometric crown at the top of the handle. Right in the center of the carved flower, there is a stunning, 100% natural Baltic amber insert with a rich honey color. The letter opener measures exactly 26 cm in length and feels very solid in hand. It is in remarkable antique condition with a wonderful deep wood grain and a warm, honest patina from decades of preservation. There are no cracks or chips in the wood, and the amber insert is securely set. This is a highly collectible, museum-quality item for anyone passionate about Latvian heritage, interwar European history, or unique antique library and desk accessories.Reasonable offers are welcome!
