Antique Ornate Cast Metal Inkwell 19th Century, No Porcelain insert For Sale

This is a 19th Century inkwell, in Victorian / Renaissance Revival style featuring grotesque gargoyle/cherub masks and scrollwork feet. Produced out of cast spelter with an antiqued bronze/brass wash patina. Likely produced in the later part of the 19th century, 1800\'s to early 20th, 1910. Hugely popular during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. Because it is missing the porcelain insert (actual inkwell), it is not a functional piece, but who uses an actual quill these days? Still, if a proper porcelain well could be mated with this absolutely stunning Victorian piece, it would then become functional. Priced to sell for completion.
