Very Rare Korean War Military Presentation Gift with the following inscription:
To: Col. Spencer H. Pratt
From: Col. Lee Sho Khun
2nd MAR Regt. 1st MAR DIV. ROK
Col. Spencer H. Pratt is the recipient of the gift. Research of the US Marine operations in Korea shows that Col. Spencer H. Pratt was a commanding officer within the 1st Marine Divisionduring the Korean War.
Col. Lee Sho Khun is the giver of the gift. The rank and the "ROK" designation tells us that Col. Lee Sho Khun was an officer in the Republic of Korea (South Korean) military.
This indicates the table was a gift from a South Korean officer to a US marine officer.
2nd MAR Regt. 1st MAR DIV. ROK designates the 2nd Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Republic of Korea. This pinpoints the military units involved.
