PLEASE NOTE: I’m not a professional grader but have over 40 years of collecting, trading & selling comic books & other collectibles. Please read description in 3rd paragraph. Please view all photos & ask any questions you may have. Grading is not a science. The impact or the importance of flaws to a book can vary from person to person. I may feel a faint water stain on the back cover is minor where someone else feels it’s more of a major defect. What I may think is a 6.0 or 6.5 someone else may think it’s a 5.0 or 5.5. I try to note what I feel are the most notable of defects and give honest grade ranges. I’m not trying to hide anything, I just may think something is not as major as someone else. Please do not purchase if you disagree or like to debate grade ranges. Purchase professionally graded comics then.I see the poorly graded comics listed out there. Also itis not my concern how the book can possibly be improved or not improved by a pressing, cleaning or any other restoration. Thank you and sorry for the rant.Oh and thank you to all the moron sellers that copy my titles exactly. Weak. Well they say imitation is the highest form of flattery. And I really didn’t think I needed to address this but PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING then want to return it because you didn’t like it or it’s not what you expected. Look. Read. Ask questions. And don’t make up stuff about item not being vintage or authentic when you have no idea what you are talking about.
Offered up from my personal collection is a “ULTRA RARE” THE INCREDIBLE HULK NEWSPAPER STRIP VOLUME 1 & 4 PAPERBACKS.Published by Tempo Books in 1980 & 1983. First Printings. (Black & White) Written by “industry legend” Stan Lee with art by Larry Lieber.FROM THE WORLD FAMOUS NEWSPAPER STRIP!Vintage “KEY” INCREDIBLE HULK paperbacks and a “MUST HAVE” for any Paperback, Comic Book and HULK completist/collector.
In my estimation the books range in “VERY NICE” (5.5) FINE- to (8.0) VERY FINE condition with medium cream to off-white pages. Very moderate wear to covers, spines, corners & edges. Vol. 1 is in really nice condition. Vol. 4 has slightly blunted/abraded corners and has minor age discoloration/staining/soiling. A very sharp, tight, bright & glossy looking set. Don’t snooze on these “sought after” paperbacks. This HULK paperback series in general is very hard to find. At time of posting there was only ONE other Vol. 4 being offered for $100! DON’T WAIT! There are no other glaring flaws to note, that is not typical to books falling under the indicated grade ranges or visible in pictures. I am not a professional grader but grade very conservatively using The Overstreet Price Guide as reference and my 40+ years of comic book collecting/selling experience. Pictures are of the actual books you will receive. No stock photos. All books come bagged.
