Authentic Mid-Century Modern Helmut Schäffenacker Studio Pottery Owl Plaque / Tray

Up for sale is a beautiful, 1950s/1960s bas-relief ceramic owl piece by famous West German designer Helmut Schäffenacker. Measures approximately 9” x 6”.

Features a vibrant, thick turquoise/teal crackle glaze contrasting with a textured, unglazed brown border. The reverse side features a smooth reddish-brown slip finish and is unmarked, which is standard for this specific production mold.

• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The glaze is bright with gorgeous crazing and no major chips or cracks. Please see photos for exact cosmetic details.

• Display: Designed flat without an integrated hanging loop. Perfect as a tabletop catch-all tray, or it can easily be mounted to a wall using a standard plate hanger.
