Tales to Astonish #19 – May 1961 – “Rommbu!”
Original vintage 10-cent comic published by Vista Publications / Marvel-era Atlas, dated May 1961.
Features the giant alien monster Rommbu, with classic early Marvel pre-superhero monster artwork and storytelling. Also includes period advertising, including a large Mickey Mantle training advertisement.
Condition:
This is a well-read original copy showing substantial age and handling wear. Cover has edge wear, creasing, rubbing, surface wear and small tears/chips, especially along the bottom edge and spine. Interior pages show tanning/age toning, edge wear and some staining. There is writing on one of the advertising/order-form pages as shown in the photos.
Staples/spine and overall structure show age-related wear. Please examine all photos carefully for the exact condition.
I have not assigned a professional comic grade, so please judge condition from the photographs.
A genuine early 1960s Marvel/Atlas monster comic and a fun addition for collectors of pre-hero Marvel, Jack Kirby-era monster comics, Silver Age comics, or vintage horror/science-fiction comics.
