The Moulin Rouge located at 900 W Bonanza opened on May 24,1955, in the west side of Las Vegas. It was home to Joe Louis whowas the host and part owner. and performers such as Harry Belafonte, Ella Fitzgerald, Dorothy Dandridge,Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Pearl Bailey, Sammy Davis Jr.,LenaHorne, and Count Basie. Staying at or playing at thestrip casinos was banned for any black performers at that time. To counter that rule, the white performersfrom the strip such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and many others joined in atthe Moulin Rouge and often partied until dawn. Unfortunately, the doors were padlocked in October 1955, and they filed bankruptcy in December 1955. The hotel stayed open under a different license but eventually closed on May 18,1959.
See Pics, logo has a few fine pin holes. One small chip on back, bottom rim which is hard to see as it is right on the rim.
