Vintage 1910s 60s Family Life Lot 7 Photos 2x3-3.5x4.5 B&W Gelatin Orig
Original vintage 1910s–1960s black-and-white gelatin-silver snapshot lot of seven photographs on paper depicting American family life in domestic outdoor and urban settings.
Early views include a formally dressed young man in a boater hat holding a bundled infant in his arms, a second portrait of a man in a suit and straw hat standing among garden plants beside a wooden fence, and another of a bespectacled gentleman leaning against a board fence or bridge railing.
Another earlier image shows a smiling woman in a long white dress standing beside a curly-haired toddler posed on a wooden chair in a fenced yard with trellises and foliage behind them.
Mid-century family scenes feature a multi-generational group seated and standing under a large umbrella in what appears to be a yard or park, a square-format portrait with scalloped edges of two women and a man in formal dress on a city sidewalk before brick row houses, and a later portrait of parents and two boys standing on a paved drive in front of a blossoming tree, likely a First Communion gathering.
Handwritten and stamped captions on the reverses include notations such as "John's Wedding Day Jan. 1956," "May 13, 1967 - First Communion," a penciled date "1946," a stamped number "9490," additional numeric marks including "62" and "63," and an ink inscription dated "Aug. 10. 29" with a cursive reference to a cousin Ryan.
This one-of-a-kind lot is offered as seven loose unmounted and unframed original photographic prints only, with any brass display stand, handwritten information card, or other props visible in the listing images used solely for scale and presentation and not included.
The handwritten information card visible in the photos describes the set as "American Family Life," a "Set of 7 photos" dating from approximately the "1910s - 1960s."
Actual Measurements: ≈ 2.75" x 4.5", ≈ 3.5" x 3.5", ≈ 3.5" x 4.5", ≈ 3" x 4", ≈ 2" x 3".
Condition: Original vintage lot of seven photographs with typical handling and storage wear from age and use. Image surfaces show overall age toning with faint surface scuffs, scattered tiny specks and marks, and localized creasing and corner bends, including more pronounced upper-right creases and a small corner chip on the standing man portrait and an irregular curved upper border on the multi-generational group under the umbrella where the edge has been trimmed or worn away. Corners and edges display minor wear with softening, a few tiny dings, and gentle curling to the photo paper; several backs exhibit light soiling, small stains, stamped or handwritten numbers and captions, and traces of old adhesive or mounting. The lot is offered as seven loose unmounted and unframed original photographic prints only, with any brass stand, handwritten information card, or other props visible in the listing images used solely for scale and presentation and not included.
