Vintage 1947 Disney Dumbo 1st Edition Simon & Schuster Book For Sale

True First Edition, First Printing (1947) copy of Walt Disney's Dumbo from Walt Disney's Little Library, published by Simon and Schuster. This is the original 1947 release featuring the fragile blue-gray paper-covered spine and the gold floral frame on the back cover.Collector's Proof of First Printing:
The checklist on the back cover stops exactly at No. 34 ("The Golden Book of Hymns"). Later printings list titles up to 40+. This confirms this copy came off the line during the absolute first production run in 1947.Condition Details:

• The Spine: Incredibly rare, nearly 100% intact blue-gray paper spine strip with only minor vintage rubbing at the tips. Most copies from this era have missing or torn spines.
• The Cover: Bright, vibrant front graphic. Shows standard vintage edge wear, corner bumping, and minor surface marks consistent with its 79-year age.
• The Interior: The "This Book Belongs To" section is completely blank and unwritten (no child's name or scribbles). Pages are crisp with vibrant color illustrations.
• Binding Gutter: The original metal staples show vintage aging and rust. This has caused some visible rust staining on the surrounding gutter paper and minor, typical wear/fraying around the staple punch holes (clearly shown in the close-up photo). The binding remains completely secure and intact.

Beautiful, investment-grade copy for any Disneyana collector or vintage children's book enthusiast.

• Ships securely packaged in heavy cardboard to prevent corner bending in transit. From a smoke-free home.
