Vintage 1950s Commercial Photo Slide - Sahara Motel, Sunny Isles Beach, Miami, Florida - Published by Photo Lab, Inc.
Up for sale is a fantastic piece of mid-century Americana and Florida tourism history! This original 1950s color transparency souvenir photo slide captures a gorgeous, vibrant daytime street scene of the legendary Sahara Motel located along historic \"Motel Row\" on Collins Avenue (A1A) in Sunny Isles Beach, just north of Miami Beach.
The image showcases the spectacular Miami Modern (MiMo) architecture of the resort, which was famous for its kitschy Moroccan/Egyptian desert theme. Right on the front lawn, you can clearly see the Sahara’s iconic, life-sized concrete camel statue complete with a Bedouin rider standing guard to catch the eye of passing motorists. Classic mid-1950s automobiles are parked out front along the strip, making this an incredible snapshot for collectors of automotive history, vintage roadside architecture, or retro Florida memorabilia.
The film transparency is in excellent vintage condition with beautiful, rich color retention typical of high-quality early commercial color films. The cardboard mount shows minor, authentic age wear as expected for an original souvenir item from the 1950s, but it remains fully intact, clean, and sturdy. Perfect for scanning, high-res digital archiving, projecting, or adding to a dedicated regional history collection.
