Vintage 1953 Photo Cavalier Hotel Virginia Beach VA Deckle Edge Kodak 3.25”x4.5” For Sale

Somebody stood on the lawn of the Cavalier Hotel in August of 1953, aimed their camera up at that big brick landmark, and thought "yep, this one's a keeper" — and 70+ years later, they were right. The handwriting on the back does all the work for you here: "Cavalier Club, Virginia Beach, Aug. 1953," so there's zero guessing involved, which is more than you can say for most vintage photos.
The Cavalier is one of Virginia Beach's most famous oceanfront hotels, a real old-money, big-band-era kind of place, and this shot captures its grand exterior with that dramatic upward angle — the kind of photo that makes even a hotel look like a fortress. Kodak Velox paper on the back and a nice scalloped edge finish give it that unmistakable early-50s snapshot feel.
A must for anyone collecting Virginia Beach history, hotel/resort ephemera, or mid-century Americana with actual provenance instead of a guess.
All items are packaged with care.
