Front: Vibrant illustration of a Hussar Officer in a blue and red uniform with fur pelisse. Minimal corner softening and light edge wear. No creases or surface damage visible.
Back: Clean, unposted condition. Features a detailed historical paragraph about Lauzun\'s Legion (raised in 1778) and its transition from service in Africa to the command of Rochambeau in America. Displays very light age-related tanning. Card stock remains firm with sharp edges.

DescriptionThis original vintage postcard features a Hussar Officer of Lauzun\'s Foreign Volunteers (1780). The reverse provides a fascinating backstory of the unit\'s multinational origins and their capture of British posts in Senegal before being reassigned to the American Revolution. Illustrated by renowned military artist Clyde A. Risley and published in Saddle River, N.J. by K/S Historical Publications in 1968. This is Number 15 in their historical series.
