Martinka Template Vintage 1969 German “Magic Box” Pocket Magic SetManfred Maluche Verlag
An unusual little German magic set from 1969, issued by Manfred Maluche Verlag in Munich. It contains 20 tricks arranged in a red-flocked tray inside a white molded carrying case embossed Zauberbox. The dice, cylinders, number blocks, and beads are all made of painted wood, a nice touch that sets it apart from many of the plastic magic sets of the period.
Very little seems to be known about these. A fellow magic collector once told me only a small number were made and then given away. I haven\'t been able to confirm that story, but they don\'t turn up very often.
The hinged case measures approximately 7 × 4 × 1 inches and includes the original illustrated instruction booklet.
A charming and rather uncommon little find for collectors of vintage magic sets.
See you on the next one, Ted
