Long before Amphora became a familiar sight in American tobacco shops, the Dutch were putting that famous name on some mighty fine briar! Produced in Holland by the Gubbels organization, Amphora pipes came from the same factory responsible for Big Ben, Hilson, and Royal Dutch.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Amphora tobacco smokers could redeem coupons for specially offered pipes, giving these Dutch-made beauties a direct connection to one of the most recognizable tobacco brands of the era. Produced in relatively small numbers, they were a cut above the ordinary promotional pipe.
With proper Dutch craftsmanship behind the name and a healthy dose of tobacco-shop nostalgia, an Amphora is a fine reminder of the days when a pouch of tobacco could put you on the road to a handsome new briar. Not a bad deal, if you ask this old Texas pipe man!

My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion.
