Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic pair of vintage Art Deco style bookends featuring majestic rearing stallions (le cheval cabré). These heavy, artisan-crafted pieces are a perfect addition to any library, office, or equestrian decor collection. They belong on a shelf in a mid-century modern room, a dark academia library, an Art Deco or Hollywood Regency interior, or a modern lodge. The gold/bronze/silver against the pale marble / onyx does the rest.
The figures are cast in spelter with a dark bronze patina. One weighs 535 grams, the other 495 grams. The difference is normal for hand-cast work of this period.
