* Description: Vintage Hand-Painted Blue & White Porcelain Asian Soup Spoons - Set of 4
Up for sale/sale is a beautiful, curated sampler set of four (4) vintage blue-and-white porcelain soup spoons. Each spoon features a unique, distinct traditional Asian motif accented by a hand-painted metallic gold rim.* Included Patterns:
• Traditional Chinese Dragon
• Serpentine Dragon
• Phoenix / Bird of Paradise
• Floral Plum Blossom Branch* Handcrafted Character & Condition Details: These spoons showcase wonderful signs of traditional, small-batch workshop production rather than modern machine mass-manufacturing:
• Kiln Spur Marks: Each spoon features a small, unglazed rectangular patch at the very tip of the handle. These are authentic firing marks from where the pieces rested or hung in the kiln to prevent the glaze from fusing to the shelf.
• Hand-Gilded Details: Because the gold trim was applied by hand, there are charming manufacturing irregularities, including minor stray gold overglaze brush marks and smudges on the reverse sides of two spoons. These are not considered manufacturing damage. Rather, these smudges and stray brush marks are characteristic of hand-gilded craftsmanship and add to their vintage charm.* Overall Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The blue graphics are vibrant, the porcelain glaze is glossy, and there are no chips, cracks, or flea bites.
Please review all photos closely to appreciate the unique handcrafted quirks and exact condition of this beautiful vintage set.* Care Note: Due to the delicate metallic gold overglaze, these spoons should be hand-washed only and are not safe for microwave use.* Shipping: All items come from a smoke-free home and will be securely packed in a sturdy box rather than bubble mailer for safe arrival.
