Vintage cast iron \"Magician Bank\" mechanical coin bank, an older reproduction of the classic J. & E. Stevens mechanical bank.
The bank depicts a magician standing behind a table holding his hat. Place a coin on the table and operate the side lever; the magician lowers his hat over the coin and the coin disappears into the bank.
MECHANISM:
Tested with both pennies and dimes. The mechanical action works smoothly and the coins dropped properly into the bank.

CONDITION:
Pre-owned vintage condition with substantial age-related paint wear, chipping, oxidation, surface wear and patina throughout.
IMPORTANT:
This is being sold as a REPRODUCTION, not as an original antique J. & E. Stevens bank.
The underside appears to have an area that was previously ground or smoothed and subsequently painted over. Similar reproduction banks are known to have identifying wording cast into the underside. I cannot determine exactly what was originally present on this example.
The round coin trap/cover on the underside also appears to have faint lettering/markings, but I cannot confidently read them.
No attempt has been made to restore or further clean the bank.
