Vintage Hand-Carved Pink & Cream Marbled Soapstone Fish Figurine - 6.5\"
Description:
Up for sale is a beautiful, vintage hand-carved soapstone fish figurine. This piece features a wonderful, primitive folk-art style design with incised details highlighting the eyes, gills, and fins. The natural stone boasts a gorgeous marbled color palette blending cream, salmon pink, and deep plum/purple hues.
It features a smooth, polished finish and a flat-shaved bottom surface allowing it to sit flat and sturdy on a shelf, desk, or mantel. There are remnants of an old stamped maker\'s mark on the bottom base, though it has worn away over time.
Measurements:
• Length: Approximately 6.5 inches
Condition Report:
Good vintage condition overall with beautiful natural coloration. Please note: There is a visible surface crack running across the front side of the fish\'s face/body area. This line does not go all the way through the stone, and the piece remains structurally solid and sturdy. There is typical light shelf wear on the bottom base, including some faded ink from a previous maker stamp or price marking. Please review all photos closely to verify the exact condition.
