Up for sale is a beautiful, highly detailedVintage Mid-Century Modern (MCM) Copper Relief Foil Art Sculpture. This hand-hammered, embossed repousse panel beautifully depicts an Inuit/Arctic ice fishing scene. It features three figures in traditional hooded fur parkas kneeling over a catch of fish. Notably, the woman on the right is shown wearing a traditional amauti parka with an infant nestled safely in the back body wrap.
The artwork is set against a dark patina background that creates striking 3D highlights and shadows. The upper framing subtly suggests the interior structure of an igloo or winter shelter.
Framing & Condition:The piece is presented in its original, high-quality mid-century styling. It features a textured linen/burlap matting border with a thin gold-accented inner lining. It is housed in its original dark stained wood frame. The back of the frame retains its original vintage gallery retailer sticker from "Tilt Art, Scottsdale, AZ."
The artwork and frame are in excellent vintage condition. The copper retains its luster and deep oxidation contrast. The frame is original with minor age-appropriate wear. It is of sturdy construction with flat paint application and intact hanging wire. The reverse side shows aging with four indentations and some peeling around the sticker. See photos #6 - 9.
