Vintage Russian Khokhloma Lacquerware 24-piece Collection Hand-Painted For Sale

Traditional Russian Khokhloma Laquerware Collection: Strawberry and Bird MotifsThis entire set of wooden decorative ware and a metal tray was personally purchased in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2003.
The collection features 24 decorative pieces in total

• 8 large plates, approximately 11 3/4\" in diameter with strawberry motifs; each signed by artist
• 3 large plates, approximately 11 3/4\" in diameter with bird motifs
• 2 medium plates, approximately 9 3/4\" diameter; one with strawberry motif (signed by artist) and one with cherry motif
• 1 small plate, approximately 7 3/4\" diameter with strawberry motif (signed by artist)
• 1 large metal serving serving tray approximately 19 3/8\" x 15 3/8\" with a Khokhloma-decorated lacquered surface
• 3 candlesticks, approximately 11 1/2\" tall, featuring traditional Russian Khokhloma hand-painted designs in red, black and gold, Two candlesticks have red-painted candle sockets; one has a black-painted candle socket; all with strawberry motif
• 2 covered sugar bowls w/lids and a single sugar spoon; strawberry motif on the exterior and contrasting lustrous gold-colored interior
• 1 large metal serving serving tray approximately 19 3/8\" x 15 3/8\" with traditional Khokhloma-decorated strawberry and floral decoration. The decorated center is smooth and well preserved. There are minor paint chips, fine scratches and finish irregularities along portions of the decorative rim as well as several small paint chips on the red underside.
• 1 cup, approximately 3 1/8\" tall; 2 1/2\" diameter; strawberry motif on the exterior and contrasting lustrous gold-colored interior. Cup coordinates with the other pieces in the collection
• 2 sets of matching napkin rings (6 in each set); 9 rings have glossy black backgrounds, while three have vibrant red backgrounds. All feature the characteristic rounded, barrel-shaped form and richly colored decorative patterns with floral motif in same wooden-lacquered treatment. Note: they are not Russian Khokhloma folk art but are compatible with the plate set.

All pieces feature traditional decorative patterns and were purchased together. The collection has never been used. 19 pieces retain their original Russian manufacturer\'s labels identifying ZAO Khokhlomskaya Rospis, Semyonov, Russia. The 2 sugar bowls w/lids, cup and spoon are unlabeled.
The two sets of napkin rings (6 rings in each stack) are offered in the original Russian newspaper wrapping which houses the rings. The newspaper was published in 2003.
All items are new, never used. The collection was purchased approx 23 years ago and has been stored since purchase. Please note pieces show minor imperfections which appear to be manufacturer-made.
