The oversized oval badge is designed to resemble a brown leather football, complete with printed laces and stitching, and boldly reads “ST. ANNE’S.” Two original fabric streamers in red and white hang below. The reverse has a dark backing with an early-style pin mechanism, and the ribbons remain attached.
Also included are two round metal school lunch tokens, each stamped:
ST. ANNE’S SCHOOL
on one side and
LUNCH
on the reverse.
Each token has a punched hole near the edge, presumably allowing it to be carried or issued on a ring/string.
A terrific piece of vintage school-life ephemera combining athletics/spirit memorabilia with surviving cafeteria tokens. The exact St. Anne’s School/location has not been identified, so no geographic attribution is being made.
Likely dates to approximately the mid-20th century, circa 1930s–1950s, based on construction, graphics and hardware.
Please review all photos, which form an important part of the description and show front, reverse, pin construction, ribbons and both sides of the lunch tokens.
A particularly charming and uncommon survivor of everyday American school life.
