Welsh Tapestry Place Mats and Tea Cosy Set - 7 Piece Vintage PackThis is a wonderfully complete set of six Welsh tapestry place mats with their matching tea cosy - seven pieces in total - all still nestled in their original packaging.The mats are woven in the classic double‑weave style at Dyffryn Woollen Mills in West Wales, produced exclusively for the Llyswen Craft Centre.Each mat displays that unmistakable monochrome geometric pattern - black or dark brown set against cream - with tiny snowflake or cross motifs sitting neatly inside the squares.The raw fringed edges give them a pleasingly honest finish, very much in keeping with traditional Welsh textile craft.The tea cosy follows the same pattern, making the whole set feel satisfyingly complete.The box itself is a little tatty, as vintage cardboard so often is, but it has clearly done its job of protecting the contents admirably.The packaging carries a handsome green background with a red Welsh dragon framed by a Celtic‑inspired gold border - a small flourish of national pride that evokes mid‑century Welsh craft culture rather nicely.Sets like these were popular souvenirs and gifts from the 1960s onwards, often bought from rural craft centres that championed local weaving traditions.In v. good order with no damage.
