WWI FDNY Auxiliary Corps War Firemen pin circa 1919 with a simple "C" clasp. The smooth, unnumbered back indicates that it was likely an official commemorative insignia pin issued directly to the auxiliary volunteer for personal civilian wear upon being discharged from service. When regular NY City firefighters left their stations to serve in the war, the city established a volunteer Auxiliary Corps known as the “War Firemen”.
