This stunning Herkimer Diamond Quartz cluster is from The Herkimer Diamond Mine KOA Resort in Middleville, New York!
This impressive specimen is comprised primarily of 15 crystals which measures 6.58 inches in length. Most of the crystals have excellent clarity and luster and all have sharp edges and terminations. The most prominent crystal near the center of this cluster is a large, jaw-dropping gem which features minor inclusions of golden iron oxide as well as light smoky phantoms, resulting in a gorgeous, sought after champagne color. Bright golden inclusions of golden Iron Oxide add highlights in a few areas. The largest crystals, one on each end of the cluster, have some internal fractures which produce gorgeous internal rainbows. Minor inclusions of black Hydrocarbon are peppered throughout.
On the back side, there are a few small pieces of dolostone matrix as well as many small gem crystals attached. There are a few small key marks and other minor imperfections, but the surfaces of this specimen are in excellent condition overall.
As with all Herkimer Diamond cluster of this size, some reconstruction was required to prepare it.
