Handcrafted Vintage Indian Board Track Racer Oil Tank Box — D E C O R A T I V E Down Tube Tank for E-Bike & Gas Board Tracker Builds
Add the finishing touch of authenticity to your board track racer build with this handcrafted oil tank box, inspired by the auxiliary oil tanks found on 1909–1912 Indian board track racers.
Early board track racers used a total-loss lubrication system — oil was hand-pumped from a separate tank into the engine and burned off as the bike ran. That's why original Indians carried a small tank mounted to the down tube, completely separate from the gasoline tank. It's one of the most recognizable details of a true period-correct board tracker, and it's the piece most modern builds are missing.
Perfect For:
· E-bike board tracker builds
· Gas-powered board track racer projects
· Display and show bikes
· Vintage motorcycle restoration and tribute builds
· Anyone who wants that authentic early-1900s racing look
Details:
· Handcrafted, one at a time — no two are exactly alike
· Designed to mount to the down tube just like the originals
· Decorative piece — not a functioning oil tank
· Available in finishes to match your build (see photos for options)
Why It Works
Whether your bike is electric or gas-powered, this is the detail that makes people stop and look twice. It fills the empty space on the down tube the way the factory intended and instantly reads "board track racer" instead of "kit bike."
See photos for mounting examples on both e-bike and gas builds.
