The 360th Infantry Regiment was part of the 90th Infantry Division (“Tough ‘Ombres” or “Texas–Oklahoma Division”) of the U.S. Army, activated in August 1917 at Camp Travis, TexasWikipedia. Deployment and Training
The 360th arrived in France in late June 1918 and underwent training until late August before being assigned to the Villers-en-Hays sectorFamilySearch.
Major Operations
St. Mihiel Offensive (September 1918):
The regiment attacked strong positions on the Hindenburg Line west of the Moselle River. It successfully captured the Bois-des-Rappes, Vilcey-sur-Trey, Bois-de-Pretre, and Foret-de-Venchers, advancing 6½ kmFamilySearch.
The regiment’s most celebrated feat was the capture of the fortified Bois-le-Pretre on September 13, 1918, symbolized by the regiment’s bear mascotGreat War Forum.
Meuse–Argonne Offensive (October–November 1918):

The advance was rapid and deep, and the division was still pressing the enemy when the armistice was signed.
Postwar Service
