1922 GVS Quackenbush Troy, N.Y. Diary Young woman on European Trip to see Hitler: $249.95
1922 G. V. S. Quackenbush Universal Dairy with content that begs the question, why would a young Troy, New York Irish woman plan a European trip to visit Adolf Hitler in 1925 Nuremberg? Miss Rosalyn Connolly, 19 years old, planned a trip to see Hitler. She is the daughter of the locally famous attorney Owen Daniel Connolly, who worked for the Troy City Corporation Council. Rosalyn resided at her fathers house at 546 5th Avenue, Lansingburgh, the house is still there. 1925 entries in the diary shows Rosalyn planning her trip, her ships trip overseas, traveling through Europe to her room at "Hitlers Hotel" in Nuremberg. Details meeting Brown Shirts before seeing Hitler, which she was quite excited about. Also detailed is her return trip. Included is a few pages from 1922 diary of her school life. A very interesting and one of a kind dairy. The G. V. S. Quackenbush Universal Diary is by itself a scarce piece of Troy history. Picture of their home is available on Google, I also have the Connolly Family Tree back to 1800's Ireland if anyone is interested.
