Original 1950 black-and-white historical photograph showing a large communist demonstration in Varna, Bulgaria, on September 9, 1950, marking the sixth anniversary of the political events of September 9, 1944.
The parade takes place in front of the magnificent Stoyan Bachvarov Drama Theatre, one of Varna\'s most recognizable historic buildings, with its impressive domed facade and ornate architectural details.
Young demonstrators carry a large decorative banner with the Bulgarian slogan \"На борба за мир и социализъм\" (For the Struggle for Peace and Socialism), followed by numerous participants carrying Soviet-style flags and political banners.
The theatre facade is decorated with large portraits of Joseph Stalin, Georgi Dimitrov and Valko Chervenkov, together with the inscription \"9.IX.1944–1950\", commemorating the sixth anniversary of the communist takeover in Bulgaria.
An excellent historical document illustrating Cold War political propaganda, socialist demonstrations, Bulgarian history and the architecture of old Varna.
