Original vintage TSB Eurocard MasterCard credit card, valid from April 1991 to March 1992.
A distinctive early-1990s British banking collectable featuring an unusual green and black striped design, large circular background motif, original TSB three-circle emblem and prominent MasterCard and EUROCARD branding.
Historical Background
This card dates from an interesting period in the development of British credit cards and international payment systems.
Historical UK banking records show that TSB had applied for MasterCard/Eurocard membership by 1989.
This original card, issued in April 1991, therefore represents an early example of TSB's participation in the MasterCard/Eurocard network.
Unlike the more familiar later TSB Trustcards, this design prominently features both the MasterCard and EUROCARD names.
It also predates the merger of Lloyds Bank and TSB in 1995.
