Up for sale is an authentic, primitive antique handcrafted copper measuring pot/cup, dating back to the late 18th to mid-19th century. This piece showcases incredible early metalworking craftsmanship, featuring hand-cut, interlocking dovetailed seams along both the vertical side and the circular bottom base.
It comes equipped with its original, heavy wrought iron handle structurally secured by two large, hand-hammered rivets. The piece is entirely hand-formed, displaying beautiful irregularities from its historic construction.
Condition & Appearance:• Patina: Features an incredibly rich, untouched dark patina with genuine oxidation and areas of verdigris (green buildup) on the bottom and interior. We have left this completely uncleaned to preserve its antique value and historic character.
• Structural Integrity: The iron handle is firmly attached with no wobbling. The body shows typical minor surface wear, small dimples, and character marks consistent with its age and utilitarian use.
• Maker\'s Marks: There are no visible manufacturer stamps or signatures, which is common for primitive trade copper from this era.
