Wonderful collection of antique and vintage clay tobacco pipes, bowls, stems and fragments displayed together in a large green-tinted glass jar.
The group contains more than 20 assorted pieces in a variety of forms, ranging from plain white clay bowls and stems to molded decorative examples. Several retain darkened interiors and staining from previous use, while others have earthy discoloration and surface wear consistent with considerable age.
One of the more distinctive pieces features elaborate molded decoration including a harp, shamrock/floral motifs and a radiating star or sunburst design. Another long white clay pipe appears impressed “BROSELEY,” referring to the historic English pipe-making center in Shropshire.
This is a terrific mixed collection for a tobacco-pipe collector, historical display, archaeological curiosity cabinet, pub or tavern display, or dark-academia collection.

Many pieces are incomplete, with broken or shortened stems, chips, rim losses, staining, discoloration, soil residue, oxidation-colored deposits, and surface wear. Several bowls remain substantially intact while others are fragments only.
The pieces have intentionally NOT been aggressively cleaned so that their aged surfaces, deposits and markings remain intact.
Glass jar shows normal surface wear and is included as the collection is currently displayed.
Please study all photographs carefully for the exact number, condition, markings and individual pieces included. Everything shown in the jar and group photographs is included.
Somebody apparently spent a very long time saying “I’ll keep that pipe fragment — it might be interesting someday.” Turns out they were right.
