Antique Folk Art PA. German Hand Carved Birds In Nest Feeding Their Chick's For Sale

Estate Find. Antique circa 1900 Pennsylvania German handcarved wooden folk art handpainted birds feeding their chick's in nest.  One baby chicken has an open mouth, which is fairly uncommon.  The bird on the right and the baby chicks have black metal eyes, and the bird on the left does not and doesn't show any type of indication ever having them as I don't see any holes where usually the metal or glass eyes would originally have been placed. Nice original paint throughout as pictured.  No chips or cracks, too, the birds' tails, and they are nicely detailed, especially the one on the right that has a heavily carved tail. The bird on the left has some paint loss on the tip of the tail and around his face, as shown.  The nest is made of Plaster of Paris and handpainted in deep dark burgundy color paint and black paint specs in some spots with some white plaster showing throughout the caverns. The bird pictured on the right has a little paint wear along the yellow orange beak as pictured.  I also noticed some paint loss along the front rim of the nest beneath the right bird as pictured. Ready to be hung on your wall.  Overall, it's a nice old, early handcarved Pennsylvania German folk art piece. The piece measures approximately 9" in width from tail to tail and approximately 6" in height.
