This is a beautifully preserved antique Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. straight razor, made in Germany. It has striking orange, amber and cream marbled celluloid scales with a raised leaf-and-berry floral design. The vibrant handle and exceptionally well-preserved blade make it an outstanding example of German cutlery craftsmanship. It comes with its original HSB&Co. two-piece box.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. was established in Chicago in 1855 and became one of America’s leading wholesale hardware distributors. The company sold German-made straight razors under its own name and later created the True Value hardware brand. This razor is believed to date to the early 20th century.
