During World War Two comics often had costumed heroes, mysterioussecret agents and remarkable inventions assisting the military. By the 1950s rolledin, comic books more often took a more serious tact, especially with their warcomics. The Korean War was now on the front page of American headlines, and thereading public were looking for more realistic heroes in more relatablesituations. These stories are a product of their times and reflect some people’smindsets about race. Although politically incorrect and insensitive now, thesestories are a snapshot of that era.
