Filatova Signed Russian Nesting Dolls 5pc Angel Burgundy Lace Cross Candle 6.6in:
$159.99

Beautiful hand-painted Russian nesting doll set by artist Elena Filatova of Voronezh, Russia, signed on the base ("Авт. Е. Филатова." — "by the author E. Filatova"). This set is signed only — no date or title is inscribed.

The figure is a praying angel in deep burgundy with all-over white lace scrollwork and gold-tone pinstriping, blue eyes and a gold-tone halo on top of her head, her layered scalloped panels reading as folded wings. The design repeats on each of the 5 dolls with lovely hand-painted variations — the second doll holds a lit candle in prayer while the largest holds a cross.

• 5 pieces, complete

• Largest doll: about 6 5/8" tall

• Hand-painted wood with matte finish, gold-tone trim

Condition: Very good overall. One tiny spot of wear on largest doll’s face. No cracks or seam splits seen — please review all photos closely, they are part of the description.
