Description
This ornate easel-back picture frame exhibits the classic stylistic markers of the French Rococo Revival movement, featuring sweeping asymmetrical C-scrolls, localized pierced openwork, and dense acanthus leaf ornamentation. The elaborate cresting at the apex highlights a central molded cherub or angel head with outstretched wings, flanked lower down on both vertical sides by two matching sculpted cherub busts emerging from the decorative framework. It is constructed from a heavy cast metal finished in a bright gold gilt tone, showcasing standard granulated textures and casting seam lines on its reverse side.
