Beautiful J. Todacheenie Hopi Yellow Ahote Kachina, a hand-carved and hand-painted Native American wood figurine. This gorgeous Yellow Ahote displays wonderful carving detail, traditional Southwestern styling, and the distinctive craftsmanship associated with J. Todacheenie.
The Ahote, also known as A'hote or Sikyahote when designed in yellow tones, is recognized as a good hunter and commonly appears in Hopi Mixed Dances. The long-feathered headdress reflects Plains-style warrior influence in the traditional depiction of this Katsina.
This is a new, unused piece and is an excellent addition to a collection of Hopi Kachina dolls, Native American art, Southwestern collectibles, or contemporary Native American wood carvings.
