Native Gold & Telluride Specimen — Jason’s Gold Mine | 2026 Season
Specimen ID: 26-0243Approximate dimensions:5.7 cm x 3.8 cm x 0.8 cm (2.2 in × 1.5 in × 0.31 in)Weight:32 gramsIncludes the display stand shown in the photos!
⛏️ FROM THE MOUNTAIN TO YOUR COLLECTION
Recovered during the 2026 mining season, this specimen comes from Jason’s active historic gold mine in Washington’s Mount Baker Mining District—a locality producing world-class gold and telluride specimens.
The exploration, mining, and discoveries are documented on Jason’s MBMMLLC YouTube channel, giving these specimens a connection to the people and work behind the finds. You can follow the adventure underground, then enjoy a piece of the same mine in your own collection.
GOLD, TELLURIDES, SULFIDES, & QUARTZ
The mine’s ore combines native gold, bismuth-telluride mineralization, and vein quartz in a distinctive North Cascades geological setting. For collectors, the interest extends from the gold itself to the mineral associations, vein textures, and details revealed under magnification.
Native gold: Naturally occurring gold found in the vein material as flecks, small masses, and other irregular forms. Its abundance, distribution, and visibility vary between specimens; please examine the photographs of this piece.
Bismuth tellurides: Metallic minerals containing bismuth and tellurium that form an especially interesting part of the mine’s mineralization. Tellurobismuthite (Bi₂Te₃) is documented at the locality.
Sulfides: Pyrrhotite and Chalcopyrite occur as accessory minerals in the mine’s vein material, adding to its metallic mineralization and mineral associations. Their presence and abundance vary between specimens.
Vein quartz: The quartz host preserves the fractures, textures, and mineral relationships that give each piece its individual character.
Locality mineral records describe what is documented from the mine. Specific telluride species in an individual specimen are not presented as analytically confirmed unless expressly stated in that listing.
A SPECIMEN WITH A STORY
A known source and recovery season give a specimen valuable context. This piece belongs to the 2026 chapter of the ongoing mining operation, where historic workings and fresh discoveries meet.
For an experienced collector, it offers a connection to an unusual gold-and-telluride locality and its modern production. For an MBMM viewer or a first-time buyer, it’s an opportunity to own authentic high-grade ore from the mine you’ve watched Jason explore.
Jason and the crew handle the drilling, blasting, and hauling. You get the enjoyable job of choosing its spot in the display case.
