ORIG'L & VERY GOOD+ Condition WWI Doughboy Shooting Mittens w/ Trigger Finger ORIG'L & VERY GOOD+ Condition WWI Doughboy Shooting Mittens w/ Trigger Finger

Description This is an ORIGINAL pair of the shooting mittens issued to Doughboys during the Winter of 1917-18 in France. The mittens are constructed of brown cotton twill with a leather palm and "shooting finger" which the index finger could be moved. The mitten has a strap which can be tightened around the hand and wrist to keep out the cold and snow. Presumably the mittens had a "one-size-fits-all" wool liner (not included). The mittens are in VERY GOOD+ condition with some wear to the leather palms (see the images above). Here's an opportunity for the advanced collector to obtain an increasingly hard to find pair of shooting mittens in excellent condition. The buyer will have my usual unconditional guarantee of authenticity and satisfaction and a five-day (not the 14-days that they insert in my listings without my consent) right of inspection and return/refund privilege, excluding postage. PLEASE NOTE: The mittens will be mailed in a padded envelope by parcel post mail, with a refund of the unused postage after mailing.
