Description
These are ORIGINAL knit wool "wristlets" typical of those knitted on the "Home Front" for members of the American Expeditionary Force ("AEF") during WWI. However, given the greenish color (rather than brown) they may have also been knitted during WWII, contrary to the description of Manion's International sale, from whom I purchased them on October 12, 1991. Wristlets, unlike gloves, have NO fingers and allow the free use of the fingers, while still keeping the palm and wrist warm. The wristlets stretch and will easily fit a man with a glove size of 10; i.e., 10" around the palm of the hand and will, of course, stretch even more to fit larger hands. The wristlets are in VERY GOOD condition, except for one wristlets which has become unwoven near the top, where there was a thread separating the four fingers (see last image above). The color is green best seen in the non-flash images.
